Introduction and contact information
« on: May 01, 2012, 06:00:03 AM »
Hi all,

My name is James Ingles and I am the owner of James Ingles Putters, if you ever need to contact me please feel free to do it through PM, the James Ingles Putters facebook page or via email which is

Like a lot of golf enthusiasts I spend a lot of time reading golf forums such as PutterTalk and I am particularly pleased to now have a 'home' on the board and have been welcomed into the PutterTalk fold.

I set up the company to mesh my love of golf and the craftsmen within the London gun trade that have been doing all kinds of metalwork for hundreds of years. We currently have two model putters that are set up with a prestigious English forging house, our 28g and 12g.

The 28g is a classic blade style putter that is based on the old 8802's, DBAPs and other classic blade putters. From the forging we hand file and chisel it to a finished weight of the customers choosing, anywhere between 320-355g.

The 12g is a more modern heel toe weighted putter which again is hand filed, chiselled and milled to the finished shape. With this putter the necks are hand made from billet meaning we can offer any neck type, likewise the forgings come back so raw, we can offer a huge variety of modern heel toe weighted putters. The 12g model forging can be made into 4 or 5 distinct putters, offering our customers greater choice at our lower price point.

The final option is the Bespoke putter. In short this is whatever the customer would like. Recently a customer wanted a mallet putter similar to an Odyssey 2 ball, however wanted the back alignment to detach and for it to be able to turn into a normal mallet putter. In the end the putter had 3 separate attachements that meant he could have a mallet putter that weighed 340g, 350g and 360g.

I look forward to contributing the PutterTalk and will always do my best to answer everyones questions and welcome all opinions.

Your work has a throwback quality or feeling to it. I said in another thread that the hand work reminds me of the finest of tooled leather work.

It is beautiful stuff to behold!
