bogeyjosh - the BB8 you picked up that is the second one pictured, is that DASS?  I assume it is by the looks.  Also, do you know what the weight is?

Thanks.

It is dass.  It's a heavy sucker!  357 I believe.    The sole is really cool on it.   RJB2471.

Good.  It's too heavy for me.  Now I won't covet your putter!

That's what I was thinking, too!

lol, i'm going to have to get in shape before i take it to the course!  my arms will be sore  ;D

Just make sure you don't toss it in the air after a narrow miss--you could gore yourself with that thing!!

On those BB0's with the wild inserts, how are they physically attached?  Are they press fit?

That pic is from the "Land of Unwanted Toys" next to Bob's desk. There are sone real winners in there!

That's too bad.  There are some nice one's in there.  The XR 2.0 and MBX-1 (far right) are quite nice.  I could help clear a couple items off of his shelf it some where center shafted. ;)

OOOoooo.  Interesting.  Big mallet (bigger than BC5), black and center shafted, please!  Can't wait.  Are these going to make an appearance on the tour soon?

Yeah.  I saw those two yesterday.  Can anyone confirm that they stainless steel and not aluminum?  If so, I may grab one and send it Lamont for a conversion.

There's two on eBay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Bettinardi-XR-2-0-Mallet-/130411324414?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Golf_Clubs&hash=item1e5d1ee3fe#ht_642wt_1137

and

But none are center shafted

Nope Jimmy, I meant a new model of mallet, not sure on lead time but, the Studio is on it.

Eric I'm not an expext on Jap Betti's but, I'd say neither was DASS.

What size mallet are we talking about?  Like the XR2 or baby bee, or something smaller like the BB-32?  I'd vote for something smaller, if I had a choice.

The putter with the "thread marks" should come with a warning sticker.

"This putter not to be used to stamp down ball marks and spike marks".

Those are 99.0% aluminum, not stainless.  They are simply anodized aluminum.

Thanks for confirming.  I think the "Kombi S" is the only neo-mallet I know of that is stainless.  I also found this reply from 'double_b" from a thread on the XR2.0 a while back

Quote
Yes, the XR2.0 was a Japan only release in 06-07, aluminum MOI, face balanced putter.
