sLuGo's Mills
« on: March 29, 2011, 10:30:08 AM »
Figured it was time i started a post.

This first pickup from PT was from johnny, who i came to know pretty fast! This thing is HEAVY and FLAT, which are both great for me and the dogtracks i play on!

This is a newer addition. Took almost 2 months to arrive in the mail. It's a lighter softtail with a larger pocket to achieve that. Jay might know more about this one. Has TOUR 2011 on bottom...

I would have to guess 335-340, but it would be just that, a guess. I use sledgehammers normally so it feels "extra" light. Jay might have more info, he had told me about it awhile ago on the phone. Hopefully he see's this and speaks up. I could be motivated to move it/trade it :)

Awesome collection your building there Jon  ;)

Has the SoftTail had more weight removed by way of merely making the pocket wider heel to toe,or has the pocket been milled deeper too ?

You look at the Oil Can Fleetwood, Old School One, Match Grade Nellie and your latest Hand Made One that is the Finest finishes by any maker out there. Superb! I hear this a lot on the boards, "The photos don't do the finish justice", well your photos do these finishes justice and for those who do not own a Mills with these finishes they are even better in person! Great collection thus far!

That is a sweet twelve.  I like the Black Ox a lot.  It is a good "old school" finish for an old school head.

You'll have to tell me how the grip feels - I had Jay cut down mine to playing length and the grip didn't survive :(  so I opted for one of the original by David Mills cord-no cord grips.  I have always liked the feel so it was a no brainer.   Of course, I don't know what I'm missing....
