Good for all strokes even if you don't think you are yippy.

Bruce,

I was working with a good player yesterday using SAM Puttlab and we saw the effects of this balance issue you discussed in your blog post.  He was trying to get his eyes closer to the ball (because two previous instructors have preferences for eyes over or just inside the ball).

Unlike your blog post where the picture on the right shows the hands outside the shoulders (closer to the ball);  He actually had his close to his body (inside the shoulder joint).  Therefore, in addition to his body drifting like you describe in your article, his hands immediately would float out toward the ball because they had started inside his shoulder. So he had a little loop in his path.

We moved him back off the ball via the "vision test" process - and his balance became much more stable.

Good stuff.

Thanks Dennis! Weight toward the ball and hands in sounds like a rough combination tro overcome. Nice work.

Readers,  if you are near Eastern Tennessee and you need some putting help I would highly recommned a visit to Dennis.

He gets it.

Bruce,

You are generous with your words (and time/talent).

I am excited as Byron and I are holding an Advanced Putting School for 4 Mondays in August at Fairways and Greens (where Byron teaches).  Each student will receive a Bruce Rearick "Profile template" that fits them after we spend the first three weeks exploring putting and discovering their fit.

So be on the lookout for an order from us! And be on the lookout for more potential consulting customers.  We will be clear about where the fit information is coming from and who the real guru is on that.
