So with the blue oil flamed on stainless, do you still need to keep it oiled?
At first I was keeping it oiled to see if that helped protect it. There is some sort of chemical process that (I think) happens when the metal is heated that creates a darker tone that looks a little like rust, but it's not. I think it's carbon, even in SS, that shows. Once I washed the finish with water and soap the colors looked so good I stopped using oil. I guess even SS can rust, but I've had no rust issues and nolonger use any oils.
Other people have better knowledge than me on the care directions, but for me I don't do anything except wash it once a week just to see the colors.
I'd like to hear from others also. How's the satin blue oil holding up?
