Byron's Collection of custom stamps
« on: November 26, 2009, 05:19:51 PM »
I snapped some pics of the custom stamps all lined up. Then I reversed them in photoshop so we could see them as they would look on the putterheads (mirror image).

Check out the LORD BYRON one piece stamp. Byron said he picked it up from an old OEM (I can't remember which one)

What is the other stamp next to the peace stamp in picture labeled #5?  Is it a cross?

thanks for taking the pics of these.  It is pretty cool to see what all can be put on a putter

I think it's a german cross.

I really like that giant blank circle. Imagine all the possibilities and combinations with other stamps! How about the lightening bolt coming out of the giant circle or the circle surrounded by bones with initials in the middle.

Wait until I figure out how to reduce the file size of some video I took of Byron! Your copper twisty is getting some bare handed attention. It is an unbelievable sight to see!!

I have seen putters with a woodie wagon in the cavity and another with the girl on the board in the cavity.

Are those considered stamps and are there others?

The woodie and surfer girl are limited engravings rather than an order option. There is also a limited engraving offered to putterheads at the mixers and possibly more in the future.

Hey guys,
Just joined, thinking about ordering after seeing a DH 89 with a cool stamp that I can't find on the site: a car with a surf board on it...
For the experts does this exist for purchase?

Thanks,
Liam

Hi,

It was a limited run of putters that have engravings (not stamps). There are two versions: Sally on a surfboard and the Woody car with a surfboard on top. The woody engravings were done on DH89s and the Sally engravings were done on DH89 minis.

Liam,

Ask Byron about it, from time to time he will make some more heads with the engravings.

C_Money - I asked the same question above about the second pic (see reply #21 above with Z-Man's response in replay #22).  They're both Club Byron stamps.  As for the first phote, that bird is a Griffin stamp.

Huntington Beach -- Byron's location.

He's two blocks from the beach and use to shape surfboards. There's a short bio and book that has Byron putter pics and a first hand account written by his daughter about growing up in the shop on his web site.

Is there a complete list of stamps for when you design a putter?   I'm assuming you don't just ask for a stamp like "gO FISH". ....  Or do you.   Go Fish!

The newest stamp is the coyote.

I believe there is three different sizes for the alphabet along with those pictured in the stamps pic on the site.

The best thing to do is print out a template found on Byron's site  of the putter you want and draw several mock ups. Post it and we can go from there.

It's still around but last I heard it's really hard to stamp - lots of details that are hard to punch into steel.

I have a copper plated DH89 with a smooth face that Byron said he would stamp the Club Byron stamp on although I ultimately chose not to.

I also asked about getting it on another DH of mine (stainless) that had a milled face, and he recommended not to. Likely due to its intricacy I assumed.
