Good designs are often copied
« on: January 27, 2015, 05:55:47 AM »
I really love the look of a 12 and have a few Spalding ones.

One thing has puzzled me and that is why it hasn't been copied far more by other manufacturers.

Nearest I've found is the Spalding XPS 200.

Just out of interest, anyone know of any other copies?

The 12 is one of those putters that has sort of a cult following.  There are guys that absolutely love the look, while others just don't see the attraction.
I am with you in the fact that I don't believe anyone has made a similar putter, outside of the Spalding versions.
Maybe David will resurrect this gem and test the market......

Certainly not a common repro, that's for sure,

Probably the offset that most don't like about it

I have one in the collection, something different, not a bad putter!

When I became slightly better at the dear old game of golf, I looked to treat myself to a newer putter than the poor old beaten up thing I'd been blaming for years for my poor putting.  I trawled through ebay and came across a design I liked.. the Spalding TPM 12.. that led me to the TP Mills name. Nowadays, I game a Mizuno TPM 8 and have a grey TPM 12 and a Cold Forged one too.. all with pockets.

Sadly, I have quite a few other putters too but I find that on every hole I've ever played the last putt I make is always perfect.
