We aren't all that far away from the 30th anniversary.

Just saying...

I was thinking the same thing myself.
I've been wanting to order a DH89 with my own options for a long time.  I had one that I bought used a few years ago and liked it a lot, but it was just a bit too heavy for my taste (360g) so I let it go.
My 612 needs a DH89 sister to compete with for bag time.  ;)

Beautiful putter there Carl.  Any idea on head weight?
I'd game that bad boy in a heartbeat!
WOW.  Turned out terrific Chip!
That's a great looking sled.  :)
Looking good, Chip! 8)
Could single handedly get loads of folks playing flow necks........
Since Rory stopped playing Nike clubs I am a little out of the loop. But I know enough about his stroke to be dangerous, so here is my take.

When Rory was winning he had a stroke that was similar to what we call a Profile 6 shown below. This stroke is way more common that you might guess. Lead hand dominant, slightly upright stance moderate arc tilted left.

There is a group of instructors out there that think having a directional tilt in a stroke pattern is a fault. I think we are the only ones who offer putting aids for "cut" and "hook" strokes. these are just descriptions of how to get the path online with the face sqaure.  The reason we do is because the best putters have a directional bias in their strokes. Example Tiger's high hook. So in a effort to "fix" his old stroke he shortened his putter over an inch and went to face balanced. The goal being to move to a pattern closer to a "preferred" Profile 2. well he is a talented guy and he can make that work. Unfortunately, that not being his natural pattern it is harder for him to control. Faxon believes to just let the putter swing. He got Rory to relax his posture/shoulders and let the putter swing. Probably told him to not try to hit up on it so much. He reverts to the stroke he grew up with, put the length back on his putter and is using one that will not fight a little rotation. Feel comes back in a big hurry and then he makes a couple. See ya!
