Unless am totally wrong, which I have been before, if there was intention to never send the putter, who ever has it, can be charged with mail fraud and since it went across state lines, a federal offense.

There is some people who belong to this board who would know a whole lot more.

People that have illicit intent are pathetic.  I am not saying Andrew has anything less than honorable intentions.  I am making a blanket statement.  Illicit actions on generous programs like the Byron Demo program is the reason that these programs are not offered.  It is a shame.

I hope that test putter #2 is located and returned to the rota.

Let's refrain from inferring any ill motive at this stage.  This is simply a case of a missing putter hunt.

If you look at his profile he did not even join the site until the next day, November 21st 2007.
http://www.puttertalk.com/community/index.php?action=profile;u=1100

His first post was not until April 16th 2008:
My apologies my friends.  I had some illness issues with my daughter that completely took me away from the world for the last two weeks.  We left the hospital this morning and have the wonderful privelage of telling you the news is great.  I understand I may have caused some disruptions and would still love my turn if it all possible.  In the meantime I simply wanted to offer my apologies to those I delayed.  Thanks for being understanding

Andrew

and his only other post was the very next day:
Thanks a lot for everything.  It's a shame too my first round was today at Redstone here in houston.  They had the greens rolling at ungodly speeds our caddy estimated 14+ 2 weeks of high winds and nothing but sunshine after a tour stop will do that.  I will look forward to rolling it on some of our texas baked out greens.

Why would he even be put on a list of PT members to test a putter? Allowing people to sign up to be sent putters to "test" that have not been active on PT and are not known by other members is a bad policy. It will also reflect badly on other PT members when people hear about the PT guy that never returned a putter.

opps...I guess I'm also guilty of not being actively posting on PT...reason is I'm rather new to putter collections and usually log in more often to read and learn stuff from you guys (and I do it really often)...been wanting to buy a byron putter for ages and thought I'll take this opportunity to test this putter first before actually purchasing 1 as I've never seen a byron in person whatmore tested one....

Anyway hope the putter turns up soon...

Deion,

Hope you get that chance to try a Byron...

First time I saw the CI*18 in lefty, I knew I had to take the leap of faith  ;D.  Best putter decision I have made in 15 years of golf. Liked it so much, I bought a barely used test type 365 g about a month later (mainly for rainy days).

I would highly recommend testing the Channel Islands... maybe Steve could get you on top of the list.

I've been in contact with Steve, Drew and even TangoJay throughout this whole thing.  I sent it to Andrew way back on April 25th and I hope it turns up.

I thought that putter was great, it's tough to hear it missing because this test program is so cool and I'd hate for this to ruin future test program putters.

I think a good common courtesy for this program is an open dialogue via emails on this site, steps would include: 1) let people know when you receive it, 2) test it for a week and review the putter, 3) let people know when you shipped it and to whom with corresponding shipping tracking code, especially important are emails to Steve on it's whereabouts.

.....like I did and what so many others did.

Again, maybe it's just tied up on Andrew's end, so I hope it turns up.  I'd hate to imply anything.  Please if anyone has this test putter, pls send it to Dieon or reach out to Steve and Drew.

JR - the intention was to bring new members into PT by telling them they had to register here to sign up for the test and review program, while all registered here, some have been way more active than others.

Hindsight may be 20-20 on the idea that having the test and review program exclusively here would bring in new users.  At the time, I thought the idea had merit and would benefit PT.  The responsibility for that decision is mine.  I understand the criticism now that the new guy has been seriously derilict.

We are actively working to get the missing putter back.

We have no inention of letting a few glitches ruin the benefit for many.  We will learn from the mistakes and try to be more on top of things going forward.

Please contact Steve at Sales@byronputters.com if you have this putter.
