Mini DH89 Test Panel (Carbon/Plumbers Neck) - Sign Up Here

OK, I figure that this will fill up fast!  If we need more than one test group, we'll do it!  This test panel will be different.  I'm going to limit the number of participants in the panel to 10, and the fee will be $30.00.  All of the other usual terms and conditions will apply.

OK, we're off to a good start.  I'm thinking carbon, plumbers neck, sight line in the flange, black ox, KBS black shaft, a little Captain Morgan theme, red & white paint fill...

Thoughts?

Red Kangaroo??? That sounds like a good choice! I bet that would look sick on the black KBS. You are giving me ideas for Mini #2.  :w00t:

For the time being, this group is full.  In fact, there are 2 more participants than we need.  I want to be sure that the participants know that this Mini is more face balanced than the DH89, 007, or 006 in a plumbers neck.  If you prefer more toe-flow, you might want to sign up for the Rincon Mini...

Stay tuned for more 411.  :)

Sorry Dan.  Weather becomes the concern again as we head toward fall.  Summers are way too short.  So, we are getting the putter to the guys in the cold climates first, while you sunny California guys will have to wait.  8)

UPDATE:  The putter was not ready before I left for Ireland.  So, there is about a 10-day delay while I am in Ireland and France.  We will get this moving when I get back from holiday with my wife (10 year anniversary).  Stay tuned for pictures from golf in Ireland and the Mystic Mini that Byron so graciously sent me to take on this trip.

I still have a few camerons, but have drifted away from the brand recently because I feel Cameron is starting to produce lines that are too much of a "gimic" IMO.

I have made alot of friends in the Cameron world over the past few years and still get together with them.   My eyes have been opened to Byron so I am sure others would be too!

Great review right out of the box, thanks blkdiamond.  I have one question about your review you stated that the mini didn't inspire confidence because of its size was this just a visual thing (comfort) or, did this effect your distance control or face contact with the mini on the course?  I assume not because you only had one 3 putt for the round but thought I would ask.  Take care.

Take care.

The issue I had with confidence with the Mini was more of a visual distraction.  The one 3-putt I had was a 3-footer I missed due to not hitting the putt hard enough.

Josh, great review of the putter.  We appreciate constructive feedback.  I agree that a Mini takes some getting used to visually; however, the feel and balance of the putter make it an easy transition.  My description of rolling a Mini is that the putter is all sweet spot.  Byron is making me a custom Mini, and it will be a part of the rotation for sure.

The Genius of Bargolf:  1.  Great putters play to their tendencies and work with them  2.  It isn't the method, it is the application of the method. Memorize the sequence of motion with clubs that fit the method.

Or Josh, I will answer to pretty much anything.

I agree that the putter is all sweet-spot.  I found when I was testing for off-center hits that the putter twisted much less than a "regular" sized putter.  I also agree that if I practiced exclusively with this putter it would not be as visually distracting.

I do plan on purchasing a mini in the future.

I usually play a compact mallet putter. Standard blade putters feel like a door swinging closed which is not good for my SBST swing. How does the mini do in this department?
