Wow.. is that a different type of oil can or can oil can just come in many different hues?  I noticed it looks a lot darker than the oil can 007 with rounded bumpers that I got from you Steve.

Bargolf (Bruce) has the putter, and he should be about finished up with it.  I will call him tomorrow to see if he is ready with his review and to send it on to the next lucky tester - JArmour...

This is my first putter review and my first chance with a Byron putter, so bare with me.

The putter is absolutely stunning, the pictures posted by Byron and Dave do this flat stick no justice.  The weld on the neck is great and you could barely tell that it's not one piece.  The finish and milling are great and the finish along with the gold paint fill looks awesome.  I currently bag a Del Mar 3.5 with the pro platinum finish.  The weight of the DH89 is 20g more but it's a welcomed changed with the greens that I play.  My first session rolling the DH89 was very eye opening.  I realized that a putter with a 350g head weight definitely feels better to me and helps with my distance control.  Putting is my strong point and I am consistently in the 25-30 putts/round range.  This putter has similar toe hang and set up to my putter but is a much longer blade style, however, being longer it still fits my eye while at address.

When I first got my Del Mar I thought it was the best putter I had ever rolled.  Once I felt the first ball off of the DH89 it's a whole new story.  It's really not even close in terms of feel.  The putter has a great soft feel and a very distinct sound that lets you know when you hit the sweet spot.  I've never heard anything like it off a putter and it's pretty awesome.

The head cover is very nice, simple is better as I like to say.  I do however like the new snap fit covers by Byron more but for a demo it's fine.  I had never used a Grip Master grip before and was a little skeptical but after a few minutes it's a great grip and I'm looking for one for my gamer as we speak.  It stays tacky for the entire round and the mid-size fits my hands and stroke great.

This entire experience has been great.  From my wife and I pulling up to our house seeing the awesome putter tube on my doorstep, until I dropped the final put on 18 for a round with 26 putts.

Finally thanks to Byron and Dave for making this happen.  You now have a new fan and I'm looking forward to being able to add a Byron to my collection!

Thanks again,
Justin

Sorry about that, the metal is 11L17 Carbon Steel and the finish is a sweet looking oil can finish.

Didn't take any pictures outside I'll try and get some tomorrow.  There are pictures of it in the test panel threads under DH89 Rincon Test panel.

Well she finally arrived!  The buggers in Canada Customs must have fallen in love with this they appear to have had it for a little while!!! lol  Customs form states...."package unopened"......yeah right!   lol

All i'm going to say for now is WOW!  Everyone who is patiently waiting their turn with this is going to be stunned at just how beautiful this truly is. :trophy:

So anyway, she is mine for the next few days at least, and I cannot wait to take her out and show her off.

Thanks again to Dave for getting all of this organized and of course thanks also to Byron for making such magnificent putters.  :thumb:

I'll take a few days to get my thoughts and notes together before posting a review.

Suffice it to say.....this is one fantastic putter!

Enjoy.  :)
