DD201 - 303ss Sunburnt finish maintenance
« on: February 08, 2019, 05:31:50 AM »
Hi folks

Does anyone have any experience with maintaining the sunburnt finish on 303ss? I recently got this DD201 and want to keep her looking good.

Thanks

I can't help on that but I think I've found my next finish! She's a beauty. Kari will tell you. Send him a note. -Matt

Not steering away from Kari, my 303SS from Lump has the same type of finish. Are they the same, no idea, but as long as you don't store it in a rain soaked head cover this combo is pretty maintenance free.

Thanks for the responses, I can relax now.

Mattc, she is a beauty. The finish is not unlike copper, but with a kind of gentle rainbow effect from different angles. That's why I was concerned about maintaining, it looked too nice to last. If it's as maintenance free as this, I can't understand why it's not more widely used.

Is this a heat treated bronze or a PVD?

This is a great revelation.  Looks stunning.  Did Kari suggest much in the way of care or did your post above suggest it's absolutely maintenance free?  Sweeeet!
